Reiki (from rei, “soul, spirit” and ki, “vital energy”) is a form of alternative healing originally taught by Japanese spiritual healer Dr. Mikao Usui and brought to the United States by Hawayo Takata. Reiki practitioners, like myself, use the laying on of hands to imbibe universal life energy into the patient to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
On the day of your appointment, you and I will chat for a bit about your life and what kinds of results you want to see from your healing session. Then, you’ll be instructed to lay down on your back on a massage table and we’ll open the session with a brief prayer. With soft music playing in the background, I’ll use “Reiki fire,” or universal energy, to align and cleanse the energy points throughout your body.
From there, a lot of different things can happen! Different people have different reactions to Reiki; some laugh, some cry, and some just feel an all-encompassing sense of calm. We might be visited by those who have passed on or other entities who come to bring messages. I might be called on to use some specific tools, like crystals or singing bowls. No two sessions are alike!
After the session’s over, we’ll have some time to chat and go over what happened. Sometimes I’ll have advice for life adjustments, and I’ll be able to answer any questions you have going forward.
Sounds good? Hope to see you soon!
